TEAP FC targets Glo Nigeria Premier League ticket

The management of Nigeria National League campaigners, TEAP FC, has said the club’s target in the upcoming season would be to win a ticket to play in the 2014/2015 Glo Nigeria Premier League.

TEAP FC finished 12th from Group A of the 2012/2013 Nigeria National League (NNL) competition.
The club scaled through the dreaded relegation waters and are not just planning to make-up the numbers in the new season due to kick-off in the first week of November, 2013.
The chairman of the club, Achebe Okoro, told teapfcabuja.blogspot.com in Abuja that the club would “play for nothing less than a promotion ticket,’’ next season.
He said the club’s preparations towards this had begun with the scouting for new players to bolster the team which will help the club come out tops.
In his words: “To play in the Nigeria National League , we are aware, is different from playing in the Nigeria Nationwide League, and we are more experienced now and ready to rise to the occasion.
“To compete with the likes of Plateau United, Mighty Jets and Niger Tornadoes among other top clubs in this division, you need a strong team.
“The management of our club has therefore taken steps to ensure that all departments of the team are fortified by giving attention to every detail,’’ the club chief said.
He, however, added that more attention would be given to the team’s striking force judging from the limited number of goals the team scored last season.
“If you observe, we had difficulties putting goals in the net in the previous season, and that is not good enough. We want to get additional strikers who can score many goals,’’ the sports loving administrator disclosed.
He thanked all those who stood by the club throughout last season and called for more support.
“First, we give God the glory for seeing us through. We particularly appreciate our teeming fans, as well as some of our loyal backers.
“We equally thank the Abuja Football Association (AFA), the security agencies and all sports lovers in the state for standing by us,’’ he said.
