Oladapo warns team-mates against complacency
Austin Oladapo, the hero in TEAP FC's 8-1 demolition of Super Warriors has warned his team-mates against ''complacency'' when the Nigeria National League begins in December 7th, 2013.
The RCCG boys lost one-nil to Maracana FC on Wednesday, followed up with a slim one nil win against Tunji Babalola Academy and rounded-up the week with an excellent 8-1 massacre of Super Warriors FC on Friday.
The left-footed dazzler, who was once on the books of Rhapsody FC in the Nigeria Nationwide League, scored two goals and created three assists in the demolition of Warriors.
Oladapo, netted six goals and was credited with four assists in the 2012/13 season, and he has warned his colleagues not to underrate any opposition.
“I would not say that we started badly after going down at the end of the first half against Warriors, but we were complacent in the first 45 minutes,” considered Oladapo after the result.
“The visitors bombarded us in the beginning and we were often too relaxed and somehow underrated them. During the second half we came all out and hit them so hard and the rest is history.
“The best thing is that the team did not collapse, we were able to come back. The coaches worked on our intensity and it paid off with some good display from Orisa Junior Victor, Tunde Adams and Emeka Uzor.
“In Nigeria National League, there are not many differences and we are all there. Now it appears that we are a little higher, but for that we have to do very well and give value to our opponents and I believe we will deliver the goods when it matters most.
On his personal targets for the upcoming campaign, the left-winger preferred to be modest and concentrate on the team's success.
''I have always believed that my game will always speak for me, but what matters most to me is the general success of TEAP FC, he told teapfcabuja.blogspot.com.
“I am happy with the result as it showed what we can do, which is important for us.”
